In the 2017 edition of the Condé Nast Johansens awards, which each year elects the best hotels in the world in various categories, Portugal has seven nominees. There are two more than in 2016, so we can only assume that we are getting better.
The Anantara Vilamoura Algarve (Vilamoura) competes in the category of Best New Hotel in Guia, the Palácio das Cardosas (Porto) for the Best Service award. The Heritage Avenida Liberdade Hotel (Lisbon) can be voted the Best Luxury Value Hotel, The Cliff Bay Hotel (Funchal) the Best Dining Experience and the Farol Hotel (Cascais) the Best Hotel on the Coast.
We are done? No, we said there were seven. The InterContinental Lisboa (Lisbon) can win the Best Hotel for Meetings or Conferences and the Monte Rei Golf & Country Club (Vila Nova de Cacela) the Best Hotel for Weddings, Celebrations and Special Events.
A reference for all travelers worldwide, it is almost like the Oscars - just the simple fact of being named is already an honor. But we do not just want to be named: we want to win. Fortunately everyone can help, since the public is also invited to give their opinion through the site. The results will be a sum of the evaluations of the users, the guests and the specialists of the publication.
Last year, Portugal won two awards: the Lisbon Inn won the Best Small and Exclusive New Hotel category and the Estoril Palace Hotel, Golf & Spa was voted Best Hotel for Meetings.
